Literature Responses


I was originally taught these ideas by my University Support Provider during my student teaching assignment. I have compiled a list of responses to use as guided practice to support and monitor student learning during language arts periods. These can be modified across grade levels.

Here's an added idea, which I tried out during student teaching:

A Character Trial, in which students must argue for or against a particular plot device in order to study character. An example of this was when my students learned the myth of Arachne, and had to argue whether or not she deserved to be turned into a spider:
